International Voice Quirks

These are some quirks to be aware of when using an international voice service:

Caller ID

Some countries don’t allow local numbers to be used as the caller ID for calls that originate outside the country.

For example, you cannot call the UAE from outside the country with a local Dubai number shown as the caller ID. Some countries require caller ID mutation for proper call delivery.

In this case, you can completely mask the caller ID and show it as unknown. Or, you can add a +1 in front of the number.

Toll-Free Capability

Many international toll-free numbers are only reachable from their countries of origin.

Call Duration

Some countries have imposed call duration timers to prevent fraud. As a result, calls might be limited to a certain duration. For example, your calls might drop after 90 minutes.
