We live very digital lives. Almost everything we do has some connection to the online, virtual world. Emails, e-commerce accounts, work/office accounts, social media, smartphones, and even smart home systems. And so, it’s never been more important than now to talk about internet privacy and how you can protect yourself when online.

Why Internet Privacy is Important

Not everyone spends time paying attention to every move or decision they make when they’re online. Others become victims to scams from people pretending to be from big companies, banks, etc. And it all starts because they snatched your contact information and profile at some point when you were online. Hacking cases have increased over the years with hackers finding new and creative ways to get into your accounts and locking you out of them. And with a lot of our sensitive information being stored on the cloud, we need to be more careful. Here are some ways you can protect your internet privacy:

1. Have a Variety of Passwords and Have Passwords Everywhere

Every account you make or sign up for should be protected by a password. However, no matter how tempting and easy it seems to have one password for all accounts, don’t do it. Have strong and different passwords for different accounts. Use characters, numbers, words that cannot be easily associated with you, and make them long. Accounts with weak passwords are easy to break into and hack. Lock your phone, computer, laptop, and all other devices with passwords or codes.

2. Keep Your Main Email Address Private

This not only helps you avoid scam emails and calls but also ensures your email isn’t sold to telemarketers or hackers. Similarly, you may want to keep your personal phone number private as well. It’s wise to create a separate email account for online shopping purposes so you don’t have to share your main account.

3. Know Which Sites are Tracking You

When visiting websites, your browser discloses information about you, your surf history, and preferences. This can be used to later profile and target you for marketing purposes. Some believe that surfing the web through Incognito mode will prevent tracking, but that’s not true. You would need to use special tools like Kaspersky Internet Security to evade online tracking.

4. Check Social Media Privacy Settings

Another part of maintaining internet privacy is watching your social media accounts. Check and update privacy settings on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. Social accounts store a lot of information about you. And if not set up to be private, a lot of this information is visible to other users.

5. Review Permissions Asked by Mobile Apps

When downloading a new app for your phone or tablet, they may request permission to access your camera, contacts, files, etc. For some apps, like Instagram, using your camera and files is necessary. But other apps use this information for marketing purposes and more. And so, pay attention when giving permissions to new apps.

6. Be Careful With Web Browser Extensions

Do the same for browser extensions. They too ask for permission to access your information and storage, and spying tendencies. Don’t install them unless absolutely necessary.

7. Back-Up Your Data and Get an Internet Security Package

Maintain a continuous back-up of your data just in case it was hacked or your laptop/computer crashes. Also, invest in a malware protector that shields your computer and the internet from malicious activity. McAfee and Norton are common and safe options to stop malicious software and viruses from entering your PC.

8. Be Careful When Signing Up For New Services

Look up the “Terms and Conditions” and “Privacy Policies” for services that you join or use. This will let you know what they do with the information they store. And you can decide accordingly whether you want to continue or dismiss the service.

Protect Yourself When You Are Online

We all know the common rules such as don’t open attachments or links by unknown people and make strong and difficult passwords. But there is more to internet privacy than that. Therefore, it is important to update your passwords and PC software regularly. Utilize anti-virus software and be aware of the different ways scammers creep into people’s accounts. Update your internet privacy and keep your information safe today.

IVR stands for interactive voice response. It is a highly effective technology and a simple tool that allows a computer to communicate using a voice and digital tones that are typed into a keypad. In other words, it is the charming voice that lets you know your menu options when you dial a company’s customer service line. The IVR allows customers to interact with its system through their own keypad at home, where they can then be transferred to the point of contact that will best suit their needs. IVR systems are pre-recorded by a human or they can be dynamically generated into audio instructions through a computer “voice.” These systems are also designed to be able to handle a large call volume and can even be used to make outbound calls.

IVR systems are typically used for retail orders, travel information, weather conditions, utilities, mobile purchases, and banking payments. IVRs are sometimes called voice response units, or VRU. These systems are simple and effective tools, but some managers and business owners are unaware of how much they can actually help their companies. The IVR can route phone calls, enable the identification of callers, reduce costs, and increase efficiency within any business.

IVR systems have been around since the 1970s, but they are much more impressive for businesses now. The earliest voice response systems had limited vocabularies, but once more companies began to invest in the technology, telephone lines and hardware evolved and became more intelligent. Today, the software is much more commonplace, therefore it is cheaper, more specialized, and easier to use than ever before.

What can IVR Systems Do?

As previously mentioned IVR’s can create customized greetings that you can choose to record yourself or if you prefer, you can use pre-recorded IVR messages. IVR’s can also collect useful information from callers. When callers listen to your recorded messages, they can choose their best menu option and their calls will be directed to the most useful department, or your customers can choose to contact an agent directly.

IVR’s can also create automated responses to customers’ most frequently asked questions. That way customers can find out the information they need quickly without having to speak to an agent. Having an IVR system also means that your company can now handle a large number of incoming phone calls at once. If your company has been struggling to stay in touch with your customers, the IVR will make sure that each customer gets their needs met or adds them to a queue if every agent is busy. Usually, these systems will have an option to let the caller leave their information in a voicemail so that an agent can call them back if they do not want to wait in the queue.

IVR: The Best Option for Business Communication

An IVR is such a simple tool that a smaller business can use the system to make their company seem like a larger corporation. Even if there are very few people working for your company, you can still use the IVR as an impressive way to direct your customers to the right professional for their needs.

The Benefits of an IVR System

There are several benefits that happen for a company when you use an IVR system. IVR increases first contact resolution because customers are directed to the most qualified agent for their questions. It also affects the consistency of the agents working for your company. If your agents specialize in one specific area, they will be more efficient at meeting the needs of their customers’ inquiries. This is because they will be skilled with specific problems and will not need to defer to management or other agents.

IVR systems are also cost-efficient since they can replace a customer service agent or receptionist that would usually be in charge of directing calls. Even smaller businesses can afford an IVR system, which makes them an ideal investment for businesses of all sizes. IVR systems are a very professional option since they give customers a chance to be greeted professionally while having their problems handled quickly, or redirected automatically to the right department.

Business managers use Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology for the delivery of phone calls and other voice communications over the Internet. A caller sends voice data in the form of packets across IP, instead of through traditional circuit transmissions via Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). With access to the Internet, phone service is delivered across the Internet via VoIP. Analog signals are turned into digital signals so that they can be properly read. The signals are then interpreted by a transmission device on the Internet.

The History of VoIP

VoIP was originally developed around 1995 to serve as a way to save money on long-distance calls, both domestic and international. A company called VocalTec created the first Internet phone for the public. Calls were made via connected speakers and a microphone using the same software through the Internet phone that was developed. In 1998, VocalTec introduced computer-to-telephone and phone-to-phone features for VoIP. Business managers used this to host conference calls and other business-related communications.

How Does Mobile VoIP Work?

Mobile VoIP works with a mobile device’s 3G, 4G, GSM, or another Internet service to send voice calls as digital signals over the Internet utilizing voice over IP technology. Mobile VoIP is also able to take advantage of WiFi hotspots to remove the calling costs of a data or cellular voice plan.

How is VoIP Accessed?

Cell phone users can use mobile VoIP on their phones by adding mobile VoIP software. Many users are already using the applications offered by VoIP service providers at work or at home. Some services also offer a full mobile VoIP network by blending a SIM card and an application together. One will function where the other does not and so on. To use this kind of mobile VoIP a user needs an unlocked handset. Most mobile VoIP applications piggyback onto existing data plans and do not require unlocking.

What is the Difference Between Cell, Landline, and VoIP Calls?

A caller’s audio data is transferred into signals that travel via fiber optic cables to the person on the other line when using a landline. Landlines are reliable, but long-distance calls can be very costly. A caller must have phone service at a location and a user must have a phone there to conduct a call, so the user is tied to a specific location.

Cell phones communicate with service coverage that covers a specific geographic area. Calls and audio data are transferred wirelessly. Cell phones are portable and flexible, easy to use, and there are unlimited long distance options that represent great cost savings. A working cellular phone needs a charged battery and cell service. Sound quality and service can also vary based on location.

With VoIP, calls function by transforming audio data and sending it over the Internet. You can make a VoIP call through a computer or Internet-connected mobile device. Callers often pair VoIP calls with video. VoIP is convenient and flexible, which works well for travelers who can call over WiFi from anywhere. Many services offer free calls for personal use and some offer low-cost options.

Benefits of Using Mobile VoIP

  • Improved call quality
  • Improved call connection
  • Adds greater functionality to cell phones
  • Significant decreases in cost
  • Features such as group chat, video chat, and multi-way calling are available

How Do I Sign Up for Mobile VoIP?

Signing up for VoIP is simple. There are numerous providers that offer VoIP on the market. The key is to look for a provider with a track record of offering superior products and customer service.

Why Businesses Choose VoIP

Mobile VoIP can add to the functionality of a business phone system and provide substantial cost savings. These are two things that businesses of any size can greatly benefit from. In the competitive global business world we live in today, staying ahead with regard to technology, communication systems, and savings on the bottom line will greatly impact the growth and success of a company. A business owner cannot afford to overlook the benefits of VoIP.

Global Call Forwarding does NOT offer SMS for verification of services like whatsapp, facebook, paypal..etc.

Sending International SMS Using AT&T Plans

Subscribers can send unlimited international Short Messaging Service (SMS) text messages using the AT&T Unlimited Plan, Mobile Share Value®, and Mobile Share® plans. The texts can originate from the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Users may send text messages to 190 countries and Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) (i.e., picture and video messages) to 120 countries. We will explain how to send an SMS to an International Number?

If an AT&T user is not a subscriber to one of the above plans, they can get an international texting package for as little as $10 per month for 100 texts, pictures, and video texts or $15 per month for 1,000 messages. Message overage costs typically come out to $0.20 per message sent.

The pay-per-use rate to send international texts is $0.25 per SMS sent, with standard messaging rates for SMS text messages received. AT&T charges $0.50 per MMS sent and standard messaging rates apply for every MMS received.

To send a message from the U.S. to another country, dial + (or 011) followed by the country code, area code, and local number.

Sending International SMS Using Verizon

Subscribers to Verizon can send international SMS text messages to over 200 countries and MMS messages to over 100 countries. The process of sending an international message with Verizon is the same as with AT&T. Unlimited international SMS and MMS are included at no cost with the new Verizon Plan, The Verizon Plan, or The MORE Everything® Plan.

With the above plans, messages received, whether from domestic or international sources, are included at no additional cost. If your plan has a received message allowance, international messages received are deducted like received domestic messages. If you do not have a received message allowance, the standard incoming text rate applies to messages that you receive. For prepaid monthly talk plans, SMS texts sent to and from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico cost $0.20 per message, and from other destinations, $0.25 per message.

Sending International SMS Using Sprint

Sprint has an Unlimited International Text service that allows customers to send SMS texts to over 180 countries for $10 per month. Messages must originate in the U.S. or a domestic location, including Canada, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. Subscribers must have a domestic unlimited messaging plan or add-on. Without a plan, users can send or receive international SMS texts for $0.20 per message. However, subscribers cannot send or receive MMS messages.

Sending International SMS Using T-Mobile

T-Mobile ONE plan subscribers and recent Simple Choice Plan members have unlimited calling and SMS messaging from the U.S., Mexico, and Canada as part of their plans. T-Mobile claims that users can send and receive texts to “just about anywhere in the world”.

Sending International SMS Using U.S. Cellular

Many U.S. Cellular plans feature the sending of unlimited international SMS messages at no additional charges. However, before calling or testing international numbers, your account needs an international service feature code and text messaging service. To send an international SMS message, dial the international access code (011). Then dial the country code, the area code, and the local telephone number. U.S. Cellular customers can send SMS text messages to over 100 countries. If your plan charges for text messages, the charges for international and domestic SMS messages are equivalent.

Sending International SMS Using C Spire

To use the C Spire plans, first get the C Spire International Calling App with Global Family for your smart phone. C Spire offers two types of plans: Unlimited Calling with Global Family for $5 per month and the Pay-By-The-Minute plan. Both plans feature free unlimited international SMS to over 140 countries. To send an international SMS message, just dial the recipient’s number, including the country code and send the message.

Sending International SMS Using Ting

Subscribers to Ting have no plans or contracts. Charges depend on the number of lines, nationwide call minutes, the number of global SMS text messages, and nationwide data. Ting bills customers for usage at the end of each billing period. Pictures and video messaging are charged as data and do not count against messages. There are no extra charges for International SMS messages and calls to over 60 countries. Sending an international SMS requires a country code, area code, and a local number.

Sending International SMS from Your Laptop

The subsequent paragraphs give information about sending international SMS messages from your laptop via Wi Fi. This is free of charge; messages are easier and faster to type; and texts are viewable on screens that are larger than smartphone screens.

Text through Email

Sending an SMS using email requires knowledge of the recipient’s 10-digit phone number and domain. Listed below are five common domains:

  • AllTel – @message.alltel.com
  • AT&T – @text.att.net
  • Sprint – @messaging.sprintpcs.com
  • T-Mobile – @tmomail.net
  • Verizon – @vtext.com

Address the email using a combination of the phone number and domain. For example, the address of an email to an AT&T user with a “(123) 456-7890” phone number, would be “1234567890@text.att.net”. A reply to the message goes directly to your email’s inbox.

Text through Wireless Carrier’s Website

You may be able to send SMS texts to other subscribers on your wireless carrier’s website. Specifically, you can do this on Verizon or AT&T by going to your account and following the prompts to send an SMS text.

Text through Google Voice

This is a free service from Google Voice. You can use your existing mobile number or choose a new number, and you do not have to know the recipient’s carrier. However, from the U.S., Canada is the only international destination for SMS messages.

Sending International SMS Using WhatsApp

This free mobile application is the world’s most popular communication app. Facebook purchased this app in 2014, and as of February 2016, its user base was 1 billion. Persons, to whom you send international SMS texts, must have WhatsApp installed on their mobiles, and your contact list must have their phone numbers in full international format. WhatsApp uses your phone’s internet connection to send the SMS messages.

Saving Money When Sending International SMS

Several considerations apply to international SMS. Foremost is whether your plan features unlimited sending and receiving of international SMS messages. If you have limited messaging, compare overage costs from various carriers as they vary. When sending texts internationally, check that the foreign carrier accepts SMS messages from your provider. To avoid roaming charges, ask people to use email when you are traveling to other countries. Finally, ask carriers whether they have international packages, which may save you money, and consider some of the free SMS methods discussed in this article.

They will keep you perpetually reachable by forwarding incoming calls to a number of your choice. This can be your personal or home phone, or a budget phone used for business. Let’s look at how you can get a business number for a Samsung Galaxy J7.

Business Phone Numbers: A Business’ Best Friend

A business phone number lets you reach customers from anywhere in the world. And a virtual business number gives you the added benefit of eliminating geographical boundaries and time zones. Virtual numbers route calls over the internet and uses international call forwarding to make you always reachable and accessible. Call forwarding automatically forwards incoming calls to a number that you choose. And this number can be located anywhere in the world, which allows you to grow your business in different areas and gain new clients.

And the best part? You can choose from a variety of phone number types. For example, if you are looking to expand your business to a different city, state, or country, you can get a virtual number that is a local number. This lets the customers in that location call your business without incurring any extra or international charges. Or, you can get a toll free number which bills the receiver instead of the caller. Again, this makes calling free for your customers. So, business phone numbers make calling your company easy and keep you within reach.

Using the Galaxy J7 for Work

The Samsung Galaxy J7, released in 2015 as part of Samsung’s Galaxy J series, makes for a good-quality budget phone. This phone is available with 16GB and 32GB storage and runs on the Octa-core 1.6GHz processor with 2GB of RAM. You can get this phone for as low as $199 at Best Buy, which makes the phone a smart choice for a business phone. You don’t need your business cell phone to do a lot but you should have good storage, a decent processor, and reliable service.

The largest country in both South America and Latin America, Brazil has a population of over over 208 million people. Due to mass immigration over the years, this country is one of the most multicultural and ethnically diverse. As a result, it’s an excellent market to tap into. With today’s global business market, not choosing an international presence for your business can be a huge mistake. What should you keep in mind when calling Brazil as your business expands?

Why Create A Presence In Brazil?

Brazil, the largest economy in all of South America, has been continuously expanding its international presence. Brazil’s most prosperous industries include tourism, agriculture, forestry, and coffee. The technology sector is also gaining significant interest in Brazil as well. Sectors such as data science, analytics, product management, and development are gaining prominence. Despite the political instability, Brazil is making strides in its tech industry and tech companies are looking to expand their branches within the country.

Businesses are now using the internet to extend their reach to include Brazil. Brazil’s youth and millennials are making the most of online businesses by investing in and supporting them. To expand your business to Brazil from an international country, a virtual phone number is a great way to start. Owning a local phone number will not only build trust with locals but also gives your business an international presence.

Brazil’s Telecommunications Infrastructure

Most of Brazil’s modern technology is located in the central/ southern regions. The north/ northeast regions, on the other hand, lack basic analog PSTN telephone lines. Brazilian numbers have an eight-digit number for landlines with a two-digit area code and a nine-digit number for mobile phones. However, when calling Brazil from an international number, you must first enter the international access code from the calling country. For example, 011 from the United States or 00 from Europe. Then, enter Brazil’s country code +55, followed by the two-digit area code, and then the eight- or nine-digit number.

Brazil ranks sixth in the number of internet users worldwide. Most Brazilians use mobile and VoIP services instead of landlines. Many technologies are bringing broadband internet to customers through DSL, cable, and 3G/4G services. This means that users are continuously active on the internet. Therefore, investing in a virtual phone number for your business will help you create and maintain a virtual presence in Brazilian markets.

How A Local Number Can Build Trust

Virtual phone numbers will bring you closer to your customers by encouraging them to trust your company. Customers are more likely to call a local number as they do not have to pay extra for the call. Calling local numbers is feasible, less expensive, and time-saving. Therefore, having a local phone number makes your company more approachable to your customers.

Customers, or potential customers, are wary of numbers they do not recognize and most will hesitate to answer those calls. Therefore, when calling Brazil, having a Brazilian virtual phone number will give you an advantage. Brazilian virtual phone numbers are local or toll free numbers with Brazilian area codes. Calls to these numbers are forwarded over a cloud-based system to your business lines. This allows you to connect with Brazilian customers, even from outside the country.

Many people don’t want to pay thousands of dollars for new phones, then find they are locked in an annual contract. If you’re one of these individuals, you may be wondering about unlocked cell phones. In this article, we discuss how one can find available phones for activation without having to sign lengthy contracts. This way, you can control who your service provider is and not have to commit to long term financing agreements.

What is an Unlocked Cell Phone?

If you’re trying to find available phones for activation, you’re looking for unlocked phones. Basically, an unlocked cell phone is one that isn’t set to provide service from a sole carrier. For instance, the major cell phone carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint) all offer new cell phones. However, these cell phones are set up to work only with the service provider that sells them. So, if you buy an AT&T iPhone, you can’t use this phone with any other service besides AT&T. But, on the other hand, if you have an unlocked cell phone, you have one which can utilize alternative providers.

Unlocked Vs. No Contract Cell Phones

No contract cell phones can utilize other carriers just as unlocked phones can. However, there’s a difference between the two. No contract phones are basically phones you can purchase from the major cell phone service carriers. But, they’re not unlocked until you have paid them off. So, they may become unlocked once you have paid the contract through and the phone is officially your possession. So, they’re not the best option if you’re looking for cheap unlocked phones. And, you can certainly find available phones for activation at more affordable prices.

Check Online Retail, Auction, and Manufacturer Sites

One of the most effective ways to find available phones for activation is on the internet. Some of the best places to buy unlocked cell phones are from people who’ve already purchased them. So, look on auction sites like eBay to find cheap unlocked phones. Furthermore, Amazon is another great online retailer of phones that can be activated from multiple carriers. If all else fails and you can’t find the unlocked phone of your dreams from internet retailers, check the manufacturer. While the major carriers may not allow you to use their Samsung phones with another carrier, you can purchase a phone directly through Samsung. If you do, you can utilize your Samsung device to pair with any cellular service it accepts.

Finding a Service Provider After you Find Available Phones for Activation

Once you choose the phone that’s right for you, you need to determine the service you’ll use. If you don’t like the idea of an annual contract, you can always consider getting a virtual phone number from Global Call Forwarding. With our phone numbers, you can:

Have you recently been called by a number starting with 855? If you have, perhaps you’re wondering if an 855 number is the same as a toll free number. Or, maybe you’re wondering if you can use this prefix for your own toll free business phone number. Find out more about this relatively new phone number prefix. And, how to get a vanity phone number that starts with 855 for your own use.

What is an 855 Number?

Is 855 toll free or is it an area code for a specific region? Well, the answer is that all 855 phone numbers are toll free numbers. In reality, they’re used just like other toll free 1-800 numbers. So, they’re free for people to call. And, those who use them typically purchase from a telecom company that carries them. Likewise, this includes custom 800 numbers from vanity number providers.

People use toll free numbers for many reasons. All in all, they’re a great outlet for providing a freeway for consumers to call businesses. Plus, they provide an affordable way for businesses to offer memorable, personalized, and credible phone numbers.

The History of the 855 Number

For many decades, 800 numbers have provided callers with an economical way to reach businesses by phone. As a result, it isn’t possible for toll free numbers to exclusively have the 800 prefix. Over the years, new 800 prefixes have been established to increase the number of toll free numbers available. Of the seven 800 toll free prefixes to choose from, 855 is one of the most recent (introduced in 2010). Only the 844 toll free number prefix is newer.

If you have a business, you can purchase your very own vanity 800 numbers. This way, you can take advantage of all the benefits of a toll free number including:

Customization: You can set up your 1-855 number with any 7-digit phone number available. This allows for great customization. Therefore, you can establish a phone number that’s relative to the alphabetic symbols on the telephone keypad. For example, if you have a towing company, you can choose a number like 1-855-869-2277. This number associates with the alphabetic symbols on the telephone keypad, TOW-CARS. When you choose an 855 number that translates into words, you give your customers an easy-to-remember number. This way, they’ll keep your number in mind and more likely to call you when they need your services or products.

Credibility: Toll free numbers are typically associated with credible companies. Think about it; would a spammy business offer customers a free way to reach them? And, foot the phone bill themselves entirely? No, they wouldn’t. So, giving your business an 855 toll free number is a great way to build credibility instantly.

Reach: Because toll free numbers are national, they give your customers a free way to reach you from anywhere in the country. This expands your business phone line reach substantially if you’re currently using a local number.

Toll Free Means Free: Overall, the best benefit of having a toll free number is offering a free way for customers to reach your business. When you provide a free way for people to reach you, you’re likely to have more people calling. And, when more people call you, you have more reasons to sell your goods and services. The iPhone evolution has happened before our very eyes. It seems like just yesterday that everyone went crazy about the very first release of the iPhone 1, simply known as the iPhone. With a glistening touch screen and virtually limitless capabilities, we thought this model couldn’t get any better. And then it did – again and again for the next twelve years, with new upgrades and updates with each new version. With the release of this incredible product came the increase of use and awareness for emojis. But, did you know that emojis were actually created 8 years before the first iPhone even released? In this informational analysis, we rediscover the history of emojis and how our undying love for creative emoticons first began.

A Bit About Emoji History

The emoji got its start before the evolution of iPhone could make its way into our digital world. Sources find that emojis were first used by the Japanese in their cellular technologies in 1999, and were further adapted and updated by the US market thereafter. But, it wasn’t until Apple’s phone system upgrade IOS6 that emoji took the US by storm. Since then, we’ve utilized and embraced the emoji as a way to translate our feelings and words into cute, funny, easily-shareable images.

The Beginning of the Emoji

If you’re an older millennial, a part of generation X, or a baby boomer, you may remember the time before the iPhone evolution took place. And, a time even before cellular devices in general. But, still, a time in which we utilized the internet for various reasons, including meeting and talking with strangers via chat rooms. Even back then we used :), :D, and 😉 to communicate our feelings visually. These were the most rudimentary and initial stages of the emoticon. If you were communicating using these back in the day, you know how important they were for conveying emotion.

The Very First Emoji

Seeing a need for this ability to showcase emotions through imagery in cellular technology, a Japanese artist by the name of Shigetaka Kurita created the very first emoji for a cellular software system. And, he went on to create single images for 175 others that are now considered a permanent art collection at New York’s Museum of Modern Art.

The Connection Between the History of Emojis and the iPhone Evolution

Years after the very first emoji created, the Apple team saw the opportunity to expand the impact of emojis and a way to implement them into their new software design. But first, they needed backing by the Unicode Consortium. This is basically a global organization that implements standards of text across computer technologies. Essentially, this group creates code for each textual concept that can be utilized across computer platforms and software to adopt the same images so they are the same throughout all computerized devices.

Once this nonprofit saw the need for the expansion of emoji use, Apple’s release of the IOS6 in 2007 allowed all users to gain access to emojis on their smartphone devices. Then, in 2009, the Unicode Consortium approved 625 more emojis to the global emoji keyboard. Finally, in 2010, the organization recognized the ever-growing use and popularity of the emoticon keyboard. This made them globally recognizable across all computer keyboard and cellular device technologies.
